Glacier Adventures

A few days ago we arrived in Glacier National Park. We got an awesome spot with a river right behind our campsite. Our first day here was a hang out day. Jay played with containers and a screwdriver, and I built a bridge to an island in the river.

Yesterday was rainy. In the morning, I stayed in the RV (reading Harry Potter) while Ma, Pa, and Little Kid went on a short hike in the rain. In the afternoon we went on a hike. On our hike it rained and snowed (what, snow!?!?) a bit, but it was worth it to see the water falls. On the way back we stopped at the camp store. We bought a family mascot- a billy goat!

This morning I became a junior ranger here. Now I am a junior ranger in three national parks! This afternoon we hiked part of the Grinell Glacier trail. I did some snow sliding on a garbage bag. It was fun!

This. Is. Amazing.

Today we drove to Bryce Canyon national park. We arrived at about five o’clock, set up and had dinner. After dinner we saw the canyon. It was so beautiful I can’t even began to put it into words. It had so many rock columns that were stuck together to make different walls. The colors were amazing. There was some white, but also orange, pink, red, and a beautiful combination of the three. I can’t wait to hike down there! On the drive there I read a legend about how the canyon was made. The legend is that People of Legend lived in a beautiful city that Coyote made them. Then they started being bad to Coyote and he turned them into stone. Cool and weird legend, huh? Trip is going well so far….

Look What I Made!

At school we  got to do a project. I chose to make a miniature model of our RV. At first I was going to make it out of plywood, but then Pa said that I should make it out of balsa wood because you can cut balsa wood with an  x-acto knife. First I cut out the the two main sides. Then I cut out the bottom, the top, and the back. Next I cut out details like the door and windows, etc. After that I glued everything together. Last, I painted it white and glued paper on for the front. Done!

Preparing for the Big Trip

For the last month we have been very busy with getting ready for our trip. We have been  sorting everything.(deciding whether to give it to away, bring it on our trip, or  put it in our shed for after our trip.) I finally  finished sorting my room,so now I sleep on a mattress on the ground in an empty room.  Now I only have to sort and pack my bunny’s stuff. With my bunny, I have to bag up a bale of  hay, his food, and his litter. (My bunny is litter box trained.)We’re almost done packing!
